About

Lunar Telephone Company (LTC) is an evolution of Chris Werner Design (CWD) - same team, same passion, same attention to detail - new, silly name and broader mission.

We specialize in design and creative direction for themed entertainment, live entertainment, and architecture. Our approach combines endless curiosity, technical expertise, and engaging storytelling - delivering projects that are memorable, stunning, maintainable.

From bluesky ideation to opening night, we’re with you - providing clear documentation, reliable budget information, and attentive support. We’re adept in working at every scale, just as comfortable on the small projects as the epic spectaculars.

Led by Chris Werner, a Los Angeles-based designer, LTC builds on 20+ years of award-winning projects. Chris is an alumnus and former adjunct faculty member of Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama. He is a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, Themed Entertainment Association, and the International Laser Display Association.

Our work spans the United States, Middle East, and Asia.  Notable projects include Meow Wolf’s exhibitions in Houston (Radio Tave) and Grapevine (The Real Unreal), the reimagined Petersen Automotive Museum, the "Dream Cube" for EXPO 2010 in Shanghai, as well as collaborations with, Gaylord Hotels, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Hersheypark, Saks Fifth Avenue, Tesla, VinWonders, Cartier, China Central Television, AXStv, LA Opera, Virgin Voyages, and Norwegian Cruise Line.

CWD's work is featured in industry publications such as Live Design, Lighting & Sound America, LD+A, Lighting Dimensions, and PLSN.

Before founding CWD (and eventually launching LTC), Chris was a lighting designer at Focus Lighting in New York City and led the Design and R&D Department for an LED lighting manufacturer, developing next-gen sustainable fixtures.
