Transmitting from Moonachie

Before opening on Fifth Avenue - the control systems are assembled in MOONachie, NJ

This fall, a small but mighty team from Lunar Telephone Company gathered in Moonachie, New Jersey—deep in the warehouse of 4Wall Entertainment - to prepare for two of New York City’s most iconic seasonal spectacles: the Saks Fifth Avenue Holiday Light Show and the Holiday Facade at the Cartier Mansion.

For us, it marked the start of holiday season - not with snowfall, but with server racks, pixel maps, and timecoded cue lists.

Lunar Telephone Company served as Production Designer for the Saks project, overseeing scenery, lighting, and video in one seamless creative system. At Cartier, we took on the role of Lighting and Media Designer, bringing sparkle and sophistication to the historic façade at Fifth and 52nd.

Over the course of about one week, we prepped media servers, network infrastructure, and show control systems; configured audio and timecode playback; worked through programming; and tested redundancies. All of this took place in close collaboration with our longtime partners at 4Wall, whose team and resources continue to make even the most ambitious projects possible.

What begins in a warehouse in Moonachie doesn’t stay there for long. By the time the season arrives, these systems will have been moved to secret rooms in these storied Manhattan buildings, driving large, complex, temporary shows which delight thousands of people each night.

We’re proud to help bring these stories to life. And grateful for the quiet weeks of prep that make the magic possible.
