Sometimes, the best way to reframe a creative challenge is to physically reframe the view.
Enter: WFB — Work From Beach.
Not to be confused with WFH, PTO, OOO, or any other official acronym, WFB is what happens when the Slack notifications keep coming, but so do the waves. Dropbox is still syncing, but, there’s sand between my toes.
My setup is simple:

A fresh sandwich from Eagle Rock Italian Bakery

Warby Parker sunglasses and a well-worn Squam Boat Livery hat
SPF 50, reapplied over and over
An Anker battery for some extra power to keep my iPhone (hotspot) running and my Anker Solix battery as a backup.
^^^ Just sharing my setup because I find that I benefit from hearing what other people consider part of their everyday carry kit. Amazon reviews are one thing… But, their no substitute to hearing from someone who’s livelihood depends upon the gear they throw in their bag… and which bag that is.
Let’s be honest: the internet is sometimes questionable, the sand is hard to keep away from your keyboard, and yes, people will give you a side-eye when you join a Zoom from the beach. But there’s also a kind of magic in building gantt charts and budgets with salt air in your lungs.
I’m a big believer that imagination thrives in unlikely places. A sunset over the ocean. A seagull stealing your snack. A stranger’s boombox playing a song you forgot you loved. It’s all input. It’s all inspiration.
At Lunar Telephone Company, our work isn’t bound by four walls. Sometimes it’s a construction site. Sometimes it’s a conference ballroom. Sometimes it’s the rooftop of a skyscraper..
And sometimes — it’s a strip of coastline, with a battery pack and a the smell of sunblock.
